"heavy" weekend

** argh... lost my original post due to connection errors n got no drafts saved. below is a based-on-memory version**

finally... our biggest furniture r settled.


spent saturday walkin ard sungei kadut area, bt din manage to find any cheap stuff. the stuff there r lk the prices we saw outside. except for a sofa set tt we r aiming, which is gg at $350 (w/o transport n installation) at TPY, is gg at $300 (w/o the same charges). since the price diff is so small, we din buy fm tt shop. in the end we left sungei kadut with only the bedframe + mattress at brighton as a potential shortlisted. went to lot1 seahorse, because wana compare seahorse storage bedframe n its mattress. was told by salesperson tt the mattress tt we wana buy is 10in thick n cant fit into e storage bedframe tt we wana buy. so seahorse is out. anyway too tired to return back to sungei kadut so we jus had dinner ard my place n pop by ikea a while cos got sale.

so sun went TPY to buy sofa, bedframe + mattress, aft a long-drawn bargaining with lil effect, ahhaha.. anyway decided its better tt all buy at the same place cos easier so even tho the mattress we bought is luxury model, its more exp than the seahorse mattress. another factor is seahorse stuff dun hav wty. then pop by courts n found out tt the breakfast table tt we wanted is no longer selling. sobsss... gonna hav to look for alternatives liao

chiong ah!

today chiong to spotlight cos got member sale, 20% off storewide, including sale items. so we aim to buy the curtains tt we browsed through mths ago (cant rem wen). so we spent lk 3 hrs ??!?!? at spotlight, finally managed to buy the following:

- 2 black rod sets. 1 for living rm, 1 for master bedroom. spent lk half n hr or more to decide whether to buy this or to buy the pre-packed set with rod n curtain inside. in the end, bought the seperate rod, cos feel lk the pre-packed's curtains not really match our theme.

- 2 curtain sets. agn, 1 for living rm, 1 for master bedroom. both r the same design, jus diff colour. choose a brownish gold for the living rm (look more atas), n a beige one for master bedroom (more airy n clean feel). took v v v long to decide on tis, cos we spent some time to choose the colours, then realised our rooms too big for the curtains. which meant tt 2 panels for one room is not enuff, there will nt b any "body" a.k.a ruffles on the curtains cos they r stretched to the max n flat flat one. those tt r big enuf for our rooms r too exp, sorta lk the custom-make prices, which defeat the purpose cos then we can choose the fabric slowly n ask ppl to measure etc (instead of rushin to buy at sale).

din manage to buy the short cafe-style curtain to cover the pipes in the living room (too tired liao) n the blinds for small room (ikea cheaper). all in all, satisfied with the buys abv cos got 20%!!! kekekeke!

yay, wkend!

weee! wkend! gonna exercise the option n place deposit tom liao. appeal against hdb on the HLE went thru n we got the HLE, so tom gonna meet mr ang n sign the official documents liao. then mon can submit to hdb to approve. gonna bring my parents to take a look at the hse, cos they haven look at it yet.

$5k cheque tom. heartpain. hahahaha...

oh ya, we started lookin at possible ROM dates too. estimate another 3mths to get keys, so ROM hav to be before tt. got go bridal show on 5th to look at ROM packages avai, bt nothin 'reali super great deal' tier leh. so jus take the materials 4 reference loh. gonna hav to b more active to look into other places for the ROM. budget $500 seems too too low liao, hahahahha

we put deposit

for the hse today. aft much struggle and talks and considerations. its gonna b a huge cash over valuation, so we gonna hav to save up a lot for tt amt. heartpain abt the money. at least we can save up on the renovation cos nt gg to do much since stay for 3yrs only. anyway, we hav until the 15th to decide if we wana exercise the option. for the timebeing we can speed up on the HLE and stuff.

our makeover

haha... had our makeover today at the Makeover Inc, as i got it free fm my Metro bday gift. so funi, dear was so stiff n looked so funi in the pics! we decided not to pay $28 for them to make-up for dear, cos guys dun reali need so heavy make-up mah. so i make-up for him! hahaha.. n he was like squirmming, kekeeke. nt a lot of pics look gd, cos the PG nv tell me my hair out of place :( stil, we chose one nice couple pic to develop as wallet size, and paid $10 for it, ahhaha... jus one pic bt they develop 2 wallet copies loh. haha, told dear tt's gonna b my 37 mths' present! haa!

b4 tt, we went to look at commonwealth hse blk 74 and 80, which Derrick arranged for us. the area looks lk a lot r rented out to foreign blue-collar workers, so safety is an issue if staying there.

last nite we also viewed one unit at blk 62. too hot, no wind, tho its cheap, abt 220K neg. b4 tt, we went over to look at Jeremy's hse, at blk 79. he renovated until v nice, n his reno also v cheap, less than 10k spent on an original condition hse. he buy the hse oso v cheap, 150k only. sigh, the current mkt price is abt 250k for tt cluster, cos got en-bloc potential. his flat reali worth it loh. n can b showroom of the whole cluster, hahah... reali v nice renovation!
